Volunteer Transportation Program
Morgridge Center FREE Cab Ride Information
The Volunteer Transportation Program is a FREE service courtesy of the Morgridge Center for Public Service. Please read this information and follow the directions for scheduling your cab rides. If you are unable to abide by the guidelines for service that specifiy you need to ride at least 8 times, the Morgridge Center has the right to deny you cab rides. Remember that while the cabs are free to you, the Morgridge Center pays for your ride, even if you do not show up!
Who's Eligible to use the Cab Service?
- This service is for students who will volunteer or have a service-learning placement with the same agency at least once a week for at least 8 weeks of the semester.
- It is NOT intended for students who have a paid or work-study position at one of the volunteer agencies.
- The agency must be located past a bus transfer point and the student must also have no alternative means of arriving at the site. Eligible agencies are listed below.

Transportation to a Specific Agency (xls document)
The list identifies agencies and schools in Dane County. On the list, you'll see the organizations' name, address, and phone number. Agencies within walking distance will say "Walking," and agencies on a Madison Metro bus line will list route numbers and approximate length of the bus ride. Agencies that are included in our free cab service program are indicated by length of cab ride to the site. If you have a question about the eligibility of a non-profit agency, please contact 608-263-2432. |
