Join an organized program

Weekly volunteering is a great way to get experience and work with a diverse group of people.  There are opportunities for Psych majors.

  • Badger Volunteers. This structured semester-long program helps you provide meaningful service to the Madison community while gaining experience relevant to your major.
  • Schools of Hope. Tutor in a Madison area school.

Take a class

The UW offers over 50 courses with a service-learning component. Try PSYCH 399 or RPSE 300. Get out of the classroom and learn more.

Free taxi rides for volunteers

If getting to your site is an issue, use our Volunteer Transportation Program (VTP). This program provides free taxi rides to students who volunteer at least eight times a semester.
