What motivates you to volunteer? “I always thought of volunteering as a way to connect to those similar to me, usually fellow volunteers. I’m now realizing that I see myself volunteering as a way to stay connected to communities I don’t generally socialize with.”

Students sorting food collected during the Red and White Hunger Fight on the B.I.G. Day
Join the largest food drive in UW history! You can contribute and make a difference in our community this Thanksgiving! Campus groups such as athletes, Greeks, student organizations, and individuals will all be pitching in to make this a campus wide success.
We will be collecting food from October 1st to November 15th. On November 15th all food will be compiled, sorted, and packed and delivered to the Community Action Coalition.
In order to get as much participation as possible, there are also incentives for groups to donate as much food as possible. Groups that register and donate food are eligible for the Red and White Hunger Fight grand prize. This year's prize will go to the group that donates the most food: an opportunity to attend the UW Men's Basketball Game in December and participate in an on-court recognition ceremony
