10,000 Hours Show Dane County

Get a free ticket to a live concert this April by volunteering at least 10 hours with local nonprofits!

Become one of thousands of young people rocking with The 10,000 Hours Show of Dane County (10K) this year. 10K wants to reward your volunteer service with a major concert that's just for volunteers. Rock the community now, so you can rock the concert this April in Madison.  

The 10,000 Hours Show presents the 2008 performer:

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!
with opening act Mike Droho and the Compass Rose
April 2nd, 2008, Doors open at 7 p.m., Show at 8 p.m.
Memorial Union Theater

Featured as Rolling Stone's "Hot New Band" in 2005, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is known for their "quirky and ever-addictive brand of artful indie pop". Clap Your Hands Say Yeah promises to bring an entertaining and lively performance to the Memorial Union Theater on April 2nd. Remember, this year's concert is open to all volunteers who have logged 10 hours of service on http://www.volunteeryourtime.org by MARCH 25th. Volunteer hours from April 22nd, 2007 through March 25th, 2008 count towards your ticket and can be retroactively logged.  

How to log hours: (Be sure to create a user account first)
1. Go to the www.volunteeryourtime.org front page and Log In using your username and password.
2. The site will return to the front page.
3. On the right side of the screen, click "Log Hours" under the "Your Hours" title.
4. Click "Find an existing agency/opportunity" and search for the agency/opportunity you've worked with.
5. Click on the agency/opportunity and enter the hours and dates you volunteered. Be sure to check "yes" to submit hours for the 10K Concert!
6. Follow up with your agency to have your hours approved!

How to pick up your ticket:
Tickets will be available for pick up at these locations on these dates:
Thursday, March 27th - Morgridge Center for Public Service, UW Campus
Friday, March 28th - UW Credit Union, State Street Location
Saturday, March 29th - UW Credit Union, State Street Location
Monday, March 31st - Edgewood College
Wednesday, April 2nd - Will Call, Memorial Union
**We will email and update our web site with specific pick up times. You will need photo identification to obtain your ticket.

This event started in Iowa three years ago and our students organized the 10,000 Hours Show in Madison as a way to get students volunteering in our community.  2006-07 was the first year in Madison and the 10,000 Hours Show enlisted over 1000 volunteers totalling 12,355 hours of service to the community.
