Madison Children’s Museum
Communications Intern, Visitor Services Intern, Special Events Intern, Development Intern

Madison Children’s Museum is unique among family resources in Dane County.  The museum fosters family and community connections and provides a place where every child can learn through play in hands on, interactive environment. 

The Communications Intern duties include:  writing press releases and media advisories; developing press lists; writing articles for quarterly newsletter; assisting with web site content and email marketing; assisting with sales promotion activities; other marketing related tasks.
The Visitor Services Intern duties include:  interacting with and educating visitors; maintaining the cleanliness of exhibits and program areas; leading or assisting with program or outreach activities; promoting and selling memberships; greeting visitors and performing admissions and gift shop transactions; addressing visitor questions and concerns.

The Special Events Intern duties include:  assist staff and event co-chairs with event committee meetings; participate actively in determining event themes; follow up on event logistics such as venue, menus, decorations, and entertainment; help generate guest lists; work with staff on invitation mailing; help track rsvps; be on site for all events; assist with post event follow up.

The Development Intern duties include:  assisting with donor research; preparing materials for meetings and solicitations; data entry and donor record management; assist with preparation for board committee meetings; assist with special and cultivation event preparations; support development related outreach opportunities; support activities of the capital campaign.
