The Morgridge Center for Public Service connects campus with community through service, service-learning, and community-based research to build a thriving democratic society.

How 50% Matching Works

The Morgridge Center will match up to 50% of any non-101 (up to $50,000 per project), including new awards to existing projects, following a competitive grant review process. The program will award $300,000 for the Spring 2012.

Spring 2012 Priority Areas

For the Spring 2012 cycle, the Morgridge Match Grant Program will only fund projects that focus on engaged scholarship (academically-based service learning and/or community-based research) at the UW-Madison.

Service learning projects that do not meet the University Academic Planning Council’s approved Service Learning Guidelines will NOT be considered.
We will only match that portion/percentage of the primary funding source(s): grants or gifts, that specifically relates to service learning and community-based research.
Projects may focus on local, regional, or international issues.

We encourage proposals that also:

Institutionalize service learning and community-based research through the creation of new service learning and community-based research courses, or by incorporating service learning and/or community-based research pedagogies into existing courses
Utilize service learning or community based research to advance discovery and learning among under-represented university students
